Photo Mirror Sync does not collect, receive, sell or share any of your data with the developer. Your photos and your Immich account go directly from your iPhone to the Immich server you operate yourself. The app has no other backend, no account with us, and no advertising, tracking or analytics.
About this policy
This policy describes the data practices of Photo Mirror Sync, an iPhone app developed by Benjamin Conrad. The app mirrors your iCloud Photos library to a self-hosted Immich server that you choose and operate. Photo Mirror Sync is an independent app and is not affiliated with the Immich project.
Data collected by the developer
None. The developer does not receive or store photos, videos, metadata, account details, identifiers, usage data or diagnostics. The app contains no advertising, analytics or crash-reporting SDKs and does not track you across apps or websites.
Data sent to your Immich server
To mirror your library, the app communicates only with the Immich server address you enter. It sends:
- your Immich email and password when you sign in, in exchange for a session token;
- the original files of your photos and videos (including Live Photo motion) with their creation date, file name and favorite status;
- checksums of files, to recognize photos already on your server;
- the names and contents of your regular iCloud albums;
- a small marker on each mirrored item and album so the app can recognize what it manages.
Your Immich server is operated by you, or by whoever runs it for you, not by the developer. What happens to data on that server is up to its operator and the Immich software.
Photo library access
Photo Mirror Sync asks for full access to your photo library so it can compare it with your Immich server, including which photos were deleted and how albums are organized. If originals are stored in iCloud, iOS downloads them from Apple on the app’s behalf; that transfer is between your device and Apple. The app never changes or deletes anything in your photo library. You can change access at any time in the iOS Settings app.
Information stored on your device
- your server address, email and session token, in the iOS Keychain (your password is not stored);
- a local database matching each iCloud photo and album to its Immich counterpart;
- your settings, the list of recently mirrored photos and a sync log for troubleshooting.
This information stays in the app’s private storage on your iPhone and is not available to the developer. Signing out removes the session; deleting the app removes its data, subject to your device’s backup behavior.
Notifications and background tasks
If you allow notifications, the app shows local notifications summarizing a sync. They are created on your device; no push service is involved. Background syncs use Apple’s background task system and talk only to your Immich server.
Sharing, sale and tracking
The developer does not sell personal information, use it for advertising, create profiles, share it with data brokers or track you. No third parties receive data from the app.
This website
This website counts page views with a self-hosted, cookie-free instance of Plausible Analytics. It sets no cookies and stores no personal data or IP addresses.
Children’s privacy
Photo Mirror Sync is a general-audience utility and is not directed to children. The developer does not collect children’s personal information.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated if the app’s functionality or data practices change. The effective date on this page is updated when material changes are made.
